February Already?!

HOLY cannoli! Where did the month of January go??

I feel like the last five months have FLOWN by and I'm kind of actually sad about it… because that means my kiddos will be moving to 4th grade soon! And if y'all don't know… my first year started with the absolute BEST class possible. They are great kiddos - very bright, fun, and each have their own personalities that I love to death.

Regardless… it's now February!! Here's to another great month at home and at school :)

Listening - I'm watching a movie I loooove on ABC Family - Holes! And listening to my puppies play tug in the kitchen. I'm so happy they get along so well… sometimes they don't but most of the time they do!

Loving - being in the South, I would not expect snow days. BUT we got that horrible ice storm and it paralyzed our city. We don't have the means down here to be able to "dig ourselves out" - no salt, no beet juice, nothing. So, when it hit, there wasn't much we could do about it but stay home and not venture out. Those that did realized how dangerous the ice was and turned right back around to go home. But we were given 3 snow days and MAN I couldn't have been more excited - nothing reminds me of home like snow days! :)

Thinking - we're going to a Mardi Gras Ball for the Coast Guard on the 21st and I FINALLY got my dress yesterday!! It's yellow and has jewels all throughout the upper bodice and on the straps. It's absolutely beautiful and will match Cody's uniform like no other! I'm SO excited.

Wanting - again, being in the South, we are SO not used to these freezing temps. We had lower 20s and upper teens throughout the week, yet this weekend, we're going to reach the 70s! I am SO excited because this is my favorite weather and I would love to stay in the 70s year round.

Needing - I have SO many different units started full of activities I've done in my own classroom… I just need to fine tune them and put them together… but I'm so lazy and when it comes to time after work, all I want to do is sleep! I just need to sit down and do it!!

2 Truths & a Fib - One of these is a fib and if y'all know me, y'all know which one it is! Read below to find out.

-My fav movie is The Lucky One - TRUTH! This is one of my favorite movies because it so hits home with me. I love the storyline and the fact that it deals with the military, it gets me every time. Love me some Zac Efron, too! Yummy!

-I strongly dislike elephants - FIB! If y'all know me, y'all know I absolutely LOVE elephants. If I could, I'd have an elephant living in my backyard. I've always dreamed of living on huge farm land where I could have my own elephant - while this dream would probably never come true, I imagine that the elephant would be BFFs with my puppy like Bubbles and Bella or Tarra and Bella.

-When I was little, I wanted to be a dentist - TRUTH! I loved the thought of being a "scientist" (I thought because it dealt with science that it was considered being a scientist) and being able to help people smile. I loved that my dentist was sooo friendly to me and it made an impression. But then, one day I went to shadow my dentist and man, I hated it. It was so much grossness and I honestly sucked at science. SO, that's when I decided to be an interior designer which turned into a teacher - my true calling :)

The First Currently of the Year!

Anyways, here's my currently!

Listening - It's completely SILENT in my house. OH how I love it… so calming.

Loving - Cody gave me a watch for Christmas and I am in LOVE. It's beautiful - a tan color and it's got jewels for the 12, 3, 6, and 9. I LOVE IT!

Thinking - We go back to school TOMORROW. Yup, you read that right - tomorrow!! I have missed my kiddos though so I'm excited.

Wanting - I want to make sure 2014 is a great year. I know it's just a new day in a new numerical year (as I've said to Cody over and over again), but I want to finish off this school year strong and start the next school year off just as strong!

Needing - I need to get to my classroom to get things set up for tomorrow! Yet, I still haven't made it past the couch and it's almost 10:30 AM here… procrastination queen here.

Memory - My memory of Christmas this year was getting to go home. I hadn't been home in over a year, so it was definitely bittersweet! I loved seeing my family and Cody's family, but I was brought back through a bunch of memories of high school when I went home. Again, bittersweet!

August Currently!

I BROKE A BLOGGY RULE!! I blogged twice today... oopsie. BUT, I couldn't wait to join Farley for her Currently party!

I've missed out on the last few so I wanted to make sure I got in on this one, especially so I could check out the other B2S must haves :)

But, before I begin, I wanted to do a mini shout out to my brother...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBA!!

I  am so proud of the man you have become and I'm so happy to be able to call myself your sister. You're just as much my brother even though we're not "related" and I cannot imagine my life without ya!! Have a BLAST today and I'll see ya soon!

Here's my August Currently!

Listening:

I'm obsessed with HGTV again. I wasn't for a while but now I'm back at it again! Been watching marathons of House Hunters, Love It or List It, and so forth.

Loving:

Since I'm done with school, I've now got TONS of free time!! So, on vacay next week, you better believe I'm doing some personal reading and chilling by the pool ALL. DAY. LONG.

Thinking:

To go with loving, I'M DONE WITH THE SEMESTER!! I hated this semester... I don't feel like I learned ANYTHING. Frustrating but you gotta do what you gotta do to get the grade sometimes.

Wanting:

I really love the beach. It's my favorite place in the entire world. The fact that we're a little less than an hour from the beach is fantastic, but it's the getting there that stinks.

Needing:

As a fresh-out-of-college kiddo, I would love to find my forever home at a fantastic school. I've gone on a few interviews and just reaaaaally want to find where I'm supposed to be :)

B2S Must Haves:

Blue Sky Planner - I love my BSP sooo much. It's small enough BUT big enough for all the things I have to write down. It's "half" the size of a normal planner, but I still love it. Here's a link to BSP and to the exact planner I have: Dabney Lee Horizontal Weekly Planner by Blue Sky

Post It Notes - who doesn't love Post It Notes? You can put them on anything, they help me stay organized, and they come in such pretty colors. I think this is my favorite Post It Note holder with notes in it: Post It Pop-up Notes Apple Shaped Dispenser

June Currently & Reminder!

Now that I am like the 250th person to link up... it's time for CURRENTLY with Farley from Oh' Boy 4th Grade!

Listening: I recorded Pixar Short Films like last week or the week before and I just can't get enough of them so I'm watching them. Love me some Pixar :)

Loving: I am no longer working so I have loads of free time... time to craft, read, watch TV, hang out... do homework (bahahaha).. or whatever I want! This will change come Fall, though, so I'm living it up now!

Thinking: I just spent the last 2 hours cleaning the house from top to bottom. Bathroom, bedrooms, living room... gosh, more square footage = not always fun!!!

Wanting: We have a Marble Slab Creamery here and they make the BOM DOT COM milkshakes, especially their birthday cake milkshakes. Well... it sounds freakin' delicious right now.

Needing: I have two assignments due today (mind you, they're short) so I should probably do them but I just honestly do not feel like it.. blah.

3 Vacay Essentials: Book = I love reading! Phone = it's connected to my hip... IG, FB, all the game apps... LOVE it. Bikini = you won't find me on a vacay unless there's a pool or beach near by. Therefore, my bikini is a necessity!

April Currently!

April Currently time!

Listening: Going through my normal morning routine... Today Show, followed by Price is Right, then Kelly & Michael... nothing... then The Talk, Let's Make a Deal, and Ellen. This is my DAILY routine :)

Loving: We have had AMAZING weather recently... warm and sunny. Last night, it rained a bit so today is colder, but the high is still 77!!

Thinking: My house is so dirty... it's because I have so much CRAP but nowhere to put it!! So, my Project Life stuff is in the living room... our folding chairs for soccer games are by the front door, there's boxes all over by the fireplace... GAH. I guess I should clean it on my "spring break" this week!

Wanting: Rain. It rained last night but for only about 20 minutes... I want rain for days and days.

Needing: I've started selling some of my craft things and I've made pretty good money for it! So, I need to get the rest of the orders out today :) I also want to create soooooo many new TPT products... I've got the ideas, just need the time!

Advice: Be friendly. If you are friendly to others, they'll be friendly to you. Hold discussions and fix things that are wrong - someone at work said yesterday... kill them with kindness and they'll be nice to you :)

First of all, I've gotta say that I LOVE this currently's looks. The colors are just gorgeous!!! Nice job, Farley!

Listening: FINLLY getting to watch This Means War with Reese Witherspoon (LOVE). Hope it's good!

Loving: My momma is currently at the airport waiting to board her plane to fly down and see me!! I haven't seen her since November so I am BEYOND excited to have her here with me for 5 days!! :)

Thinking: My puppies are having big time tummy issues... and keep eating rocks outside. I love them, but they are SO weird!

Wanting: If you know me... you know that all I do is crave sweets. ALL. DAY. LONG. So, I'm wanting a brownie... good golly Molly...

Needing: I have 2 more assignments left that are due tomorrow... I should probably get on them, but blogging is MUCH more fun!

Like: summer - self explanatory 

Love: sticky notes - what teacher DOESN'T like sticky notes?!

Hate: spiders and snakes scare the bejeezus out of me - they're so crawly, slithery, weird, gross, scary.. ahhh!!

February Currently & A Sale!

Holy cannoli! It's already February 1st!! Where the heck did January go?! I guess time flies by when you're having fun... :)

Listening: self explanatory!

Loving: we live in Mobile, Alabama - the weather has been GORGEOUS. Just the right temperature to keep the windows open!

Thinking: I had some cookie cake after dinner for a treat and I'm really craving some more... bad sweet tooth, bad!!

Wanting: I cannot WAIT to have the craft room complete. Of course, pictures will follow :)

Needing: I'm falling behind on classwork this semester.. it's not as fun as last semester! I also signed up for a V-day card swap so I need to get on that :) cannot wait to see the finished products!

Pet Peeves: I hate HATE hate when people lie - why not tell the truth and have me mad at you for that rather than tell a lie and have me be mad at you for lying AND for what you did??? GRR. I hate when people promise things and then break it - like I promise to call you, and then don't. Or, I promise to hang out today, but they don't. That leads into bailing on plans - don't agree to do something if you're not going to or you don't want to - just say no!! Simple as that. RANT over. :)

January 2013 Currently

Tomorrow begins a BRAND. NEW. YEAR. Many people will be making resolutions, while others could care less. I'm one of those "make resolutions" people - as you will see tomorrow ;)

Anyways... Farley has put up her currently - the first of the new year - a day early, so I thought I would join in!

listening: the fireworks are going CRAZY where we live. They're legal here, so they'll be going off for daaaays. The Goonies are also on - my fav!

loving: my family comprised of Cody & Socks. These two make my life veeery interesting!

thinking: I've got so many crafts that I've got to make a "craft corner" which is going to consist of shelving, bins, a table, and all kinds of things. Just a place to do me :)

wanting: a nice, cold milkshake - self explanatory :)

needing: our house is a WRECK. There are boxes upon boxes all over the place from when Cody's things got here, so I technically "can't" clean... hehehe

OLW: grateful. I'm going to be grateful for EVERYTHING this year. Those that are in my lives, the opportunities I'm blessed with, the activities I get to participate in. EVERY. SINGLE. THING.

December Currently

December's currently is up at Farley's blog, Oh Boy 4th Grade! You should join, too. They're a lot of fun & you get to meet a lot of new people and see what is CURRENTLY going on in their lives!

December is my favorite month. I love the decorations, the feelings it brings (kindness & joy), and the holidays, of course. Spending time with family and friends is an absolute must and I would not want it any other way. Beyond that, I think it's a great month for RAK events. Whether you're doing it because you feel like giving back or because you just thought someone might appreciate it, I think RAKs are really cool.

My RAK is to go out to eat and pay for another couple's meal, no matter what they ordered. I'd preferably like it to be an older couple, but a couple would be perfect for me. I think the fact that couples still go out and hang out and have a bite to eat is comforting and adorable and I just love it. Therefore, I'd love to pay for their meal.

October Currently

For the book, it's supposed to be our all time fav October book. I have more than one, but I chose this one specifically because it's monsters. And I love funny monsters! (Monsters, Inc., anyone?!) This book is PERFECT for reading during Halloween time, as it's all about monsters getting their haircut. It's super cute & has some pretty good illustrations. I love it!

I love doing this each month (I missed September... oops) because it shows my focus each month at the beginning. I'm realizing it's the same needing mostly every month so I should PROBABLY get on that today... ok, tomorrow. :)

So, here goes my 7 facts:


1. I have two tattoos on my body. On my front left hip, I have "Live Laugh Love." On my right shoulder blade, I have "Strength & Courage." I've always loved the saying live laugh love, so I wanted it on me to remind myself each and every day to do those three things. Strength and courage is for my Daddy. He passed away in 2010, but I got this tattoo to remind myself to have strength and courage in everything that I do.

2. I got into blogging because of Pinterest. I kept getting linked to so many different blogs that I decided I wanted to start my own and begin creating my own things for my future classroom. I love being creative and need something to do ALL the time, so blogging is the perfect filler.

3. I graduated from the University of Cincinnati this year with my Bachelors in Early Childhood and two certificates, Deaf Studies and Child Abuse Recognition, and I'm getting my Generalist Endorsement AND will be going to Bowling Green State University for my Master's degree starting August 20th!!!! (Just found out!!!) Man... I'm a school nerd!

4. I have an obsession with anchors or anything nautical. My boyfriend is in the Coast Guard so I've gotten into the whole fad of anchors, sailboats, ropes, knots, etc. I love it!

5. When I was little, my parents pulled my arms out of their sockets by swinging me by my arms to do a "helicopter" while we were playing outside. I also got poked in the eye by my mother when she was flying a kite - I think they're abusive.... :]

6. I really think I'm a hoarder... my family and friends joke that I am a hoarder but I really do have a TON of stuff! I just can't help it... if I see something cute, I go for it!

7. I am scared to death of bees. I have been stung more times than I can imagine - on my hand when I was throwing trash away, on the corner of my eye to the point where my eye swelled up on the first day of Kindergarten, between my toes running around the backyard, and more beyond this! So, if you're around me and I see a bee, I turn into an instant sprinter and ninja master.So, that's a little about me .. nothing ecstatic but that's me!

JULY CURRENTLY


It's time for the July Currently with Farley over at Oh Boy 4th Grade! Here's my currently for the month of July - stop on by and link yourself up, too!

So, I didn't follow the directions so I updated my Currently! Farley has asked for the last group to be 1) book that you enjoy reading out loud the most and 2) a go-to professional development book.

1 - I LOVE Shel Silverstein. You can do so many things with his poetry, and I love poetry as is. Children love the poems, too.

2 - I'm loving this book by Donalyn Miller. She's such a sweet, kind hearted lady, and she has the cutest Southern accent. She also has some amazing ideas surrounding literature.

currently...

There is this link up party called "Currently" that Farley over at Oh Boy Fourth Grade does monthly, and I decided I wanted to link up! I created my own currently, and it's below :]

I wish I could go to Italy. I am Italian, so I think it would be awesome to see where my ancestors came from and what they dealt with daily. I also think that Italy is a BEAUTIFUL place with all the architecture and color!

I went to Florida (just last week, actually!) to see Cody. It was one of our every 3 month trips where I go to see him. It was a different kind of trip, but I enjoyed seeing him nonetheless.

I want to go to North Carolina because I've heard it's beautiful. Cody will actually be there for A School (his training) in Elizabeth City. I'll be there in August hopefully, so I cannot wait to see if the "reviews" are right or not!

As for my loving.. I'm starting to volunteer with a group called Boys Hope Girls Hope. I mentioned this in another post, but I'm truly loving that I get this opportunity! I also love being able to say that I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, and that I am a graduate student. I love my life!
