tried it tuesday: pit to plate

I HIT A MILESTONE!! I have 609 views on my blog as of this moment. I did not ever dream that I would even hit 500 views in less than a month, but it's only been 10 days!! Thanks for all that read, I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy posting!

Also, I won my first giveaway ever! I cannot tell you how excited I am to have won, and I won with a bloggy friend, April, over at Wolfelicious. Make sure to check her out, and while you are at it, check out Rebecca over at The Teacher's Chatterbox (the woman who did the giveaway). Both ladies are amazing, so make sure to go see them!

Today's Tried It Tuesday! My friend Kristin and I decided we wanted to try different restaurants in Cincinnati while I'm still living here. So, we decided to try Pit to Plate. It's a BBQ restaurant not too far from our house and man, was it good!! The outside does not look like it's a good place to eat, but believe me, it was amazing.

This man was inside the doors. I thought he represented the restaurant well!

On each table, there were tons of menus. These are what they looked like. They had SO many dishes to choose from and SO many sides. It was unbelievable.

I got the pulled pork with corn, green beans, and a corn muffin. I LOVE cornbread so I definitely had to have a corn muffin. In fact, I ended up having two :] Anyways... the pork was so tender and juicy, and it comes "naked." On the table is 6 different types of sauces and you choose whichever you'd like to use. I chose the Mild BBQ because I'm a baby when it comes to spicy things. I really enjoyed this sauce, though. It was sweet with a little tang. The corn was great, and the green beans were good, too! I'd definitely recommend this dish to anyone, especially if you like pulled pork!

Inside, there was awesome decor. The windows were covered with "wood planks." There were buckets hanging over the lights and the walls had tons of decorations on them. The squares on the ceilings that are NOT blackish-gray are actually ceiling tiles that are covered in t-shirts. This was really cool because they were all different kinds of t-shirts that represented "country." Also, there were Pit to Plate koozies hanging from the ceiling as "wind chimes." This was too cute! Below this picture is a picture of the seats. I asked our server if I could take one home because they were just too creative!

Overall, this was a very successful Tried It Tuesday! I cannot wait to see where next week's Tried It Tuesday takes us! I'll keep ya posted :]

  1. What a precious blog! I have a bee theme in my classroom. I used to live in Cincinnati in 07-08. My hubby had an internship there and I worked at LIttle Red School House. Are you familiar with it?

    Keep up the hard work!

  2. Hi Sara! I love your cute blog! That wagon wheel picture is awesome. I'm sure I'm alot older than you, and I'm about to age myself, but all I could think of was When Harry Met Sally. There's a line in the movie about a "Roy Rogers garage sale" wagon wheel coffee table. So that bench made me laugh. Come visit me sometime! I'm creeping up to 100 and will be having a give away!
